Millionaire leaves Cockatiels $100,000 in Will

September 5th, 2015  |  News

A New York millionaire left her 32 pet cockatiels a $100,000 trust fund after passing away in June.

Leslie Ann Mandel passed away at 69 years of age and bequeathed the money to her pets as a way to care for them after her death. She has asked that her stepson, the trustee of her will, look after the birds in an aviary at her 4 four million dollar East Hampton home.

She also allotted money for the care of her rescue dog, Frosty, and a cat named Kiki.

Mandel is not the only millionaire to leave money to her pets, hotel magnate Leona Helmsley left her favoured Maltese, Trouble, $12 million dollars after she passed in 2007.
