Simple yet effective pest control during the spring months

Just when you thought you got rid of them, they’re back. Its spring time again and your pesky neighborhood pests have begun to surface. From bugs in your flower beds, to those raccoons that love to make a mess of your garbage, there is no shortage of pests that can wreak havoc on your property.

The truth is that there is always going to be a number of nature’s creatures that we will just not get along with. And, while our first reaction may be to go to the store and purchase the latest chemical concoction, there is a better and more natural way to fix the problem. 

Organic approaches to pest control 

The good news is that are many quick and easy pest control options that you can use during the summer months. Here are some of the most common courses of action:

  • Use natural insect repellants: Natural insect repellents are ideal for your garden because they do not use chemicals, they are better for the environment, and they will still get the job done. The only downfall is that they may need to be applied a couple times for best results.
  • Be proactive and prevent nesting before it happens: Too many people wait for a problem to occur before they do anything about it. Regularly inspect your home and areas in your yard such as around your deck, behind your shed and garage, and any other place where you think that pests could nest.
  • Add a bird feeder: Attracting birds to your yard is actually a great way to help control some of the pest that could each your plants and flowers in your garden. Hang a bird feeder or add a bird bath to your garden.
  • Take care of your garden: healthy plants are known to be more resistant to pests. So, keep up with your garden and perform regular maintenance.
