March Madness on the Roads Part 2: The Most Annoying Driving Habits

March 17th, 2013  |  Insurance

In part 2 of our 4 part series that examines the most annoying driving habits, we will take a look at four distracted driving habits.

Distracted driving is not only annoying; it is a serious driving issue that all drivers need to avoid at all costs. All it takes is taking your eyes off the road for a second or two for something bad to happen.

The following are four of the most common and most annoying distracted driving habits that get our blood boiling:

  • Talking on your cell phones: We all know that talking while driving is a serious issue, yet we still see people doing it all the time.
  • Putting on make-up or grooming while driving: Drivers see a lot of crazy things during the morning commute. In an effort to save time, it’s not uncommon to see other drivers putting on make-up or styling their hair while driving down the road.
  • Driving while drowsy and straddling the line: Driving while drowsy is something that all drivers need to avoid. It often causes you to lose focus, straddle the line, and you could make a poor judgement call. Avoid driving while tired and take frequent brakes if you are driving long distances.
  •  Slow down to look at car accidents: Too often, traffic slows down because other drivers slow down to look at car accidents on the other side of the road. This is not only annoying; it could also cause another accident because it forces drivers to slow down suddenly.

We also want to hear from you! What do you consider to be some of the most annoying driving habits? What driving habits get under your skin?

Stay tuned for Part 3, which takes a look at annoying highway driving habits.
