Documents you need to get a proper auto insurance quote

August 30th, 2011  |  Auto Insurance

Consumers need to be prepared if they want to get a proper auto insurance quote. The more prepared you are to get a quote the more accurate of a quote you will be able to get from insurance providers. And, if time is an issue, having the proper documents in place and ready to go will only speed up the process of getting an accurate car insurance quote.

What documents do I need to get an accurate quote?

There are a number of documents that you can get together before you request a quote. Here is what you will need:

  1. Driver’s license: Have your driver’s license and the drivers licence numbers for all of the people in your home, even if they are not going to be used on your insurance.

  2. Vehicle registration: Have the registration documents for all of the vehicles that are going to be included in your auto insurance quote.

  3. Contact and payment information: Have your updated contact information and payment information ready such as automatic withdrawal or credit card information.

  4. Your current auto insurance policy: Have a copy of the policies for all drivers in your home.

  5. A copy of your driving record: Have an up to date record of your driving history to ensure all information you provide is accurate.

  6. Driving school certificate: This is specifically important for any new drivers that will appear on your auto insurance policy.

  7. Quote reference number: If you have previously filled out a quote, make sure you have your reference number ready to speed up the process.
