5 Tips on How You Can Save on Auto Insurance

September 19th, 2011  |  Auto Insurance

Saving money on your auto insurance is something that all consumers should explore, but often don’t. But, the reality is that many people spend more money for their auto insurance policies than they should spend. All it takes is a little work and you can reduce how much you pay while still getting the coverage you need for your vehicle.

Here are 5 tips about how you can save on auto insurance:

  1. Shop frequently: When it comes to auto insurance, the grass may be greener on the other side. So, take a few minutes out of your day and shop around from time to time.
  2. Don’t pay for unnecessary coverage: Many people have more coverage than they actually need. Review your policy and remove unnecessary coverage from your policy to save a few bucks.
  3. Don’t drive so much: If you don’t drive that often you could qualify for a casual driving discount with your insurer. Call you provider to see if you qualify.
  4. Don’t pay monthly: If you pay for your policy either quarterly or yearly you will likely qualify for a discount.
  5. Don’t be shy and ask for a discount: If you want to pay less for your coverage, just ask. Insurers are not going to give you a discount, but if you ask for one, they may be able to find one that you qualify for. So, don’t be shy and get on the phone.
